Open-Cell Spray Foam

Open-cell spray foam is applied as a liquid and expands many times its size, filling the corners, edges and odd gaps that batts miss. The finished foam is soft and spongy, lets a little water vapor through and does an excellent job of blocking air movement and sound.

We install open-cell foam in walls, ceilings, attic roof decks and interior partitions for homes across Nashville and Middle Tennessee. It is a strong choice for interior walls, sound control and unvented attic roof decks where moisture is managed, and our crews trim every bay flush so drywall goes up clean.

FAQ

Common questions about open-cell spray foam

What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell foam?

Open-cell is lighter and softer, blocks air and sound and is applied thicker. Closed-cell is denser and stiffer, adds strength and resists moisture more.

Is spray foam safe to live with?

Once the foam has cured it is inert, and the house is ventilated while we work. We explain how long to stay out before you return.

Will it work in my existing walls?

Spray foam is easiest where framing is open, such as new construction, additions and attics. Existing closed walls usually call for dense-pack instead.
